I continually read my coopetors’ posts. (See this post for how I merged the words “cooperate” and “compete” when it comes to my colleagues.)
I notice that some of them use hashtags within the body of their posts, some use them in a list at the end, and some do not use them any more (myself included in this last pack). They are all leaders in the field of LinkedIn guruhood.
What to do? you may wonder.
I say use hashtag terms if you like. Wherever in the post you prefer. Or do not use them at all.
Is this wishy-washy on my part? Not really. There seem to be very few rules to make the algo love or hate you when it comes to hashtags.
I prefer to concentrate on the great people I know and trust, by ringing their bell (see this slightly dated blogpost about that aspect), and read them as they produce their mindfulness.
After all, why tie yourself to matching hashtag mentions when there are so many? I’ll match yourself to great minds instead, IMHO…
