Today is Friday the 13th, ascribed to being a bad day, as in something unlucky is going to happen.
But what is luck anyway? I could copy-paste a dictionary definition. But I won’t; rather, I’ll define it from my lens and ask that you add your thoughts to mine.
To me, “luck” is your being rewarded, or not, by doing the right thing, with the right people you are with, at the right time, sharing a part of your true self.
Nothing existential about it, nothing paranormal, nothing surreal or mischievous. Rabbits can retain their feet, clover can grow wild, black cats can wander freely, ladders can be set up anywhere needed irrespective of people crossing, and the number on the calendar in the Friday column has nothing to do with this, since you should be, IMHO, showing and doing your best every single day. On LinkedIn too.
It’s all about you: said in other ways, you reap what you sow, what goes around comes around, it’s better to give than receive, and so on.
Then you can reflect back on what you earned, good and not-so, and how to make this better.
That’s how I perceive “luck.” It’s completely in you, and up to you.
