She wrote a Thanksgiving-themed post on LinkedIn to her “tribe”.
It “spoke” to me.
She invoked my name with an “@” in front of it along with a list of other people she wanted to offer their thoughts. So I did. It was easy, she earned it over the more than 20 years I have known her.
We “get” each other.
And she replied back to me:
I really appreciate you and how you “show up” in everything that you do.
That’s what I aim for. It warms my heart and soul to know I am having an effect like that on a fellow pro. So I added it to my LinkedIn About section as another unsolicited quote in my collection, to give my profile readers a sense of how others perceive me “amazing-er” than the rest.
That strategy is not me talking about myself.
It’s about others freely offering, and my selecting a collection of curated testimonials. Appreciation abounds in both directions.
You may want to review your About section too and add some quotes you have accumulated over the years. It’s all about how we add value: you appreciate them, and vice versa.
I’ll say it again, thank you back.
