Not the mechanical kind, but I am wondering if you truly listen to the vocal kind, when you read your post before clicking “post.”
I wonder:
Do you use acronyms and industry jargon that puts non-enlightened readers off? Or do you soften the letters and use other words to explain how your thoughts can be used across industries?
Our eyes slide over a screen faster than our mind can absorb. Do you read aloud (or let Microsoft Read Aloud) to be sure there is nothing stiff or stilted in what you wrote and edited, so it comes across clearly?
Spell-check is by no means perfect. Check grammar, not just spelling.
Combine read-aloud and spell-check to get the best value: bifecta.
If it’s really a complex idea you are putting forward, do you write the post, and “let it cool” and come back to it later to be sure it’s not too hot, not too cold, but “just right?
Listening is better than hearing. You know what you want to say, but does the reader get the value you wish to impart?
I know, there’s AI.
But what else, because in my world, AI is less than perfect.
