Wow.
Open to all questions about stories, I am (invoking my inner Yoda, a Jedi master story teller).
This one came at the end of the New York Public Library session I co-collaborated and presented with David Winkelman.
He answered first, always cogent and grounded. Ever clear and insightful.
I invoked another influencer, this one a real person, Lois Geller, from an article she wrote:

Go ahead, tell us your stories. make us use our minds and our hearts beat stronger.
How you slayed the dragon. Heart is doing that thump thump.
How you won the prince’s/princess’ heart. Thumping faster.
How you persevered under duress. Brain cells firing.
How you emerged victorious and enlightened. Brain cells making new brain cells.
We cleave to stories like these. Always have, since the beginning of time, always will until there is nothing new to talk about. Every novel. movie, documentary, saga, myth, every one of them. Your storytelling builds and establishes your brand as memorable, cerebrally and emotionally.
In our world of brief memory spans and fast paced change, telling stories means you are commendable and relatable, and that speaks volumes.
Being remembered is essential to standing out. Hearts and minds.
Tell us why you do what you do and let others tell how well you do that why.
Amazing-er-ness. Hmm?

Excellent – if not almost too much to take in.
Let us always be ready to behold, with various filters, what is rich and fundamental, yet often overlooked.
