If you search for your name on LinkedIn, how many people with the same, or similar, name come to the search results?

In my case, more than a dozen. Even if you spell my first name with a K.

And I am not talking about “Karc.”

How about you, Joe Smith?

29,000.

Or you, Mohammad Abdul (just to pick a name)? Over 40,000!

So beyond your name, what’s in your brand? Most often used, keywords.

Instead, if you search for “Marc Halpert, LinkedIn coach,” you’ll find me right away. The only one, happily.

Isn’t that the point, to be easily found? In a minimum of time and effort by an attention-deficit searcher?

I suggest you consider using keywords throughout your LinkedIn profile that your prospects will likely use to search for people like you.

Rise above the rest of the average Joes.
