I was asked this in a recent zoom webinar I presented. A great question, and a simple answer: yes!

The number of fake players out there in LinkedInLand make it imperative that you rise above any suspicion, to ensure confidence from a third party that you are a real pro, for additional authenticity.

Of course you’re selfbranding fully on your LinkedIn profile, and doing this extremely well, adding posts and commentary to aid others in spreading your thought leadership is vital too.

But add the verification, because it’s a simple process, and that little badge after your name allows the reader of your profile to click it, and get more information to verify that LinkedIn, using its outside vendor, has authenticated your ID credentials.

Depending on your employer, you can verify yourself as an individual, as an employee, or as an  member of an educational institution, all performed by CLEAR, a recognized authority.

It also shows the period since you last changed your LinkedIn headshot and contact information, so be aware of that too, and keep both recent.

Little extras.

Today, the extra assurances count. Be amazing-er.
