I don’t know about you, but some of the best conversations I have in my experience are with fellow LinkedIn coaches and trainers all over the world.

We can call them “coopetors,” another word I coined (and wrote about here and here ). People you cooperate with and may compete with, or not, indirectly.

Case in point:

Last December Lynnaire Johnston, all the way in summery (yes I am envious!) New Zealand invited me and 3 of her friends to chat openly about LinkedIn in a LinkedIn Live session.

From that far away, through the wonders of technology, we met as  Lynnaire moderated a talk for an hour among friends and colleagues:

And as we chatted about wrapping up 2023 with over 160 changes to LinkedIn, prognosticated on our expectaitons for 2024, and other tangents of course, afterwards I scheduled zoom chats to get to know them inidvidually.

It’s what I do.

If we are known by the company we keep, then friends of Lynnaire’s are going to be amazing-er! And now, having spoken to all 3 at least once, that warm and rich camaraderie that I enjoy among my LinkedIn coopetors was reinforced once again.

In conversation, we shared so many common thoughts and views, and although some diverge a bit, that’s natural. This LinkedIn thing is an art, not a science, open to artists’ diverse interpretations.

One thing that keeps me going is the canopy of great thought leaders I get to come across, get to know, learn from, and converse with, that spreads farther all the time.

Geography is not an issue. We are global minded.

I am so fortunate.
