Not a typo. Collaboration often feels so one way, one party giving more than the other.

So I choose whom I want to collaborate with, and ask them (they are pleased, from their reaction it is clear they are).

They feel enabled.

They tell me they are honored to be asked.

Admittedly, ego plays a part in all we do, but I choose the ones to complement, (notice I did not say “compliment.”)

Then collaboration becomes co-collaboration, because we make even deeper relationships when we work together to a common goal, we emerge enlightened and  in an enhanced way. Then we can reprise the work: at another place, venue, adjust the topic, go deeper in the next session, whatever the audience and the co-presenters need and re-imagine, respectively.

And they will refer you to their fave collaborators. And on and on…

Reapproach sponsors of past sessions you held and offer new ones that their audience will appreciate. You made the initial impression, so why not double its value when you refer a colleague as a co-presenter?

Stay tuned for co-presentations in 2024 in which I co-collaborate with selected colleagues, to bring the best two seasoned pros can bring, and the end results always equal more than the sum of the parts. A glimpse of remarkable things coming your way.

Idea: approach someone you admire, respect and can complement in your work and join forces. Let us know when to participate and observe the magic!
