The outdoor concert was underway. The musician was playing his own works and chatting in between songs to give context to the time in this life that the song was written.

His subtle comedy was his fun way to reflect back and entertain the audience in words too. A comic and a singer.

A woman arose and started walking to the side of the grassy concert area.

“Ma’am the show is still in progress. Where are you going?” he quipped.

Understand this, he was very good natured in how he said it. It was clear she was not leaving the venue or she would have grabbed her lawn chair and cooler.

And it was funny. She did return, probably after a bio break.

Pivot. Do people leave your LinkedIn profile when they stop by to read about you? Unfortunately, you cannot see this happen.

Don’t you wish you could say, “Reader, my profile story of my career is still in progress. Why are you leaving?” You can’t.

You get one chance to capture their attention. Work hard on that; it’s worthwhile. It’s opportunity knocking.

Make them listen to you, how you progressed through your career. Give them the melody, the harmony, and the rhythm.
