Blogger’s note: almost 5 years ago I ran this series of blog posts on LinkedIn and EI. Judging from recent events and behaviors, I, and you, can benefit from a refresher. One a day for the next 13 days will follow. Earlier, many of you commented positively. It’s worth repeating IMO.

Thanks and appreciation are worth sharing. You look good for doing so, mentioning those due thanks look good here too, and only one of many ways LinkedIn makes it easy is by using the @ in front of their name to link your comments to your, and to their, Home pages. Your and their connections will see what you are praising and grateful for.
You can and should be generously appreciative.
It’s good practice. An emotional intelligence requirement too.
This is an ideal way to doubly thank and announce an upcoming presentation, conference address, blog post, and any of a number of smartly-thought-out ways to link yourself further to the wonderful people you get to collaborate with.
