Abstinence has the connotation of avoiding a toxic or taboo substance, or being deliberately distant from a mainstream human activity.

In the context I want to address with you, it’s what I see all too often: simple comments on someone else’s post that in essence says nothing about why you said that.

Or, going months, yes even years, without ever commenting at all on LinkedIn.

We all see that. We want to engage with active thinkers not sloths.

Oh, did I compare you to an animal known for its lackadaisical demeanor? Do you employ or do business with nearly invisible slowpokes?

I don’t.

Think of how much more you would gain esteem and admiration when you play the LinkedIn game more frequently. You might even get better at it or win a few  clients. Imagine.

No wonder you say that LinkedIn is not providing you the ROI you expect. You expected it to reward you for no effort. I wonder why you could ever think that.
