I just scored a great source of yardwork and snow shoveling around my house, things I am no longer able or want to do: Son of a friend. I had already helped Dad with his LinkedIn profile as a downstream benefit of only knowing Mom from volunteer work.
Earlier in the summer a client contacted me to help his Son with LinkedIn. backstory: I had helped Dad, Mom and Sis already too!
Even before that I helped Grandson of a close friend, and then was asked to help Cousin of that Grandson.
The power of connection is amplified when you can “work within” a small group and optimize the good that comes from it. Rinse. Repeat.
I am sure I am not coming up with all the family play in my business over my 14 years as a LinkedIn coach. But it sure feels good to have the warmth and trust of them all, enough to be called on again to help.
Networking leads to broader family, especially from within their relative family.
