LinkedIn is your portal to active participation in the global knowledge market, one that is as acute or as faded as you make it. Here are some ideas to consider to be sure you are “in it to win it”:

  • How often do you review your LinkedIn profile? Update it for recent changes in your work?
  • How often do you post something others need to know that you know, as a PSA?
  • How often do you check your links to be sure they are still correct? They change, you know!
  • How often do you review your connections and cull out the dead wood, you know: those you had great intentions when you first connected but it just didn’t pan out?
  • How often do you comment on others’ posts and add your valuable POV?
  • And finally, how often do you make connections among your colleagues so good people meet other good people?

Yes folks, LinkedIn is a participation sport, not a spectator one.

If you are not active, you will fade away, or worse, miss opportunities since you have to be top of mind to be referred.
