It’s amazing to me that smart people I know on LinkedIn post they took a new job, but…{cue screech of brakes}….one they took a few months back.
Somehow this slipped their mind. So they posted it ex post facto. Good, but….
Is this the type of person you would hire? Is this lack of attention to self-branding the person you want selling your goods or services? If they cannot service themselves, how can they serve their client, or meaningfully woo you as a prospect?
Think of the ways you come across. If you are not in the moment, your competitor knocks you out. That should make you think.
One more pointer here: if you are not accessible by email and text via your Contact Info section, you can miss an opportunity and it will not come back to replay, your inattention to detail will not give you a second chance.
So when you have news, hawk it, “read all about it!” Be aware that the timing and quality of your self-branding relies on no one, but you.
Be in it to win it, as the slogan goes.
Not late to the party, so late that it might be smarter not to advertise it at all.
Just make the change(s) to your profile and move forward, with a mental note never to let this happen again.
