My post last Friday generated a question back to me:

Thanks. What about the converse question: when shouldn’t you post on Linked In? Or what shouldn’t you post?

to which I answered:

Thanks for the question, and it’s a good one. There is no “when” not to post, in terms of time of day, days of the week, etc.

The other side of your question, what not to post, well, first I would direct you to LinkedIn’s Community Standards for specific rules we abide by as a start: https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a403269. Most of it is just common business sense. But it still needs to be set out as common rules.

An interim suggestion: I suggest against repeating posts more than once that did not resonate the first time. Instead, reword them, add a new graphic, start them with “ICYMI” and ask for help or comments with a “call to action” in the newest post. Hope that adds more light.

I also want to add that I avoid any discussion of politics on LinkedIn.

I suggest we all stay deliberate in what we say and what we do not say. Let’s be the adults on the platform when it gets childish.
