Do you ever watch a TV commercial and at the end say, “what are they selling?”
I often add to that, “And what were they thinking to produce that?”
I have to question the intent of senior decisionmakers at LinkedIn budgeting money and brainpower to creating games on LinkedIn.
I suppose it’s to make LinkedIn more fun.
I suppose it was to entice members to remain on the platform longer.
Instead I think they might have invested more in LinkedIn such as:
- They need to add to the global learning curve and gain more users’ allegiance on the platform where we are committed to helping others, and/or gaining help from others,
- More than once I have called for a wholesale redesign of LinkedIn to encourage prioritizing the best parts of our profiles,
- I wish they would decipher some of the best sections of LinkedIn for our personal needs,
- I implore them to rid us of spammy sales offerings, bot-driven drivel, come-ons and inneuendo that do not become LinkedIn,
- I still would like to see them make finally make Groups more useful and unhide them from the “For Business” tab at the top.
- I would encourage them to concentrate on LinkedIn as lifetime resource, beyond a job board as they still advertise themselves primarily.
Just a few of my wonders when they will make LinkedIn better than it is now. It should be more than it is with the minds they employ to bring us together.
Not via games, but in global collaboration.
