OK, I am going to preach a bit, so you have been forewarned.

  • I encourage you to write posts that reflect the real you.
  • Do this as often as you have something interesting, useful, insightful, or engaging to say.
  • Write from your heart and your brain.
  • Make your brand resonate.

I recently noticed that LinkedIn is encouraging you to start your posts by letting AI write them for you.

Please don’t.

Here’s what you see on your screen when you start to write a post on your Home page:

When you click in the place to write, a new screen opens up, where you can write your draft of a post, and then click below to let AI take over making it different, perhaps better, and I will submit, not you, in your own words, in your own intonation and character:

I am going to suggest this to you: try writing from your heart and mind, thus from your brand.

To need help is fine. Write it, let it cool. Come back to it. Tweak and edit. Let it cool further. Return to it and see if it’s what you wanted to convey. To need practice writing is better. And it will get better.

I did that with this post.

But to need a machine to make your opinion impressive is not being a business professional. AI can do the same for some other competitor. Then I ask, why would they choose you??

Be you. Make them want to hire you. Be aware and experienced enough to offer your keen insight and experience.

You should be able to write that post without artificial help, IMHO.

You may not agree. That’s OK.
