I received this in an email late last week and I was delighted:
Hi Marc,
Thank you for your patience, I submitted the contract for the last round of due diligence and signature today. Turnaround time is typically 7-10 business days.
I will send you the signed document as soon as I have it.
Have a great weekend.
They found me in the LinkedIn search function, based on my keywords, and reached out in December. Yes, It’s April, and some projects develop more slowly than we would like, but no worries!
I’ve never been “an end justifies the means” type of guy, and after my qualifying zoom chat with the company, I just kept up with her every couple of weeks, with a link to a post or comment I made on LinkedIn that might appeal to her to show my thought process, an article I read to share that she could use, an unassuming note to see if they needed anything else from me, and a few times they asked for my advice.
Patience. Perseverance. Progress. A cool project is coming.
Good things come to those LinkedIn trainers who wait, just by adding value over time.
