I provide LinkedIn training in firms and groups (not only 1:1 coaching).

They tell me they spend a good deal of time trying to get everyone to “row the boat in the same direction” but often they meet resistance. Or they give up.

I jump in with my tried-and-true method:

  • I meet the Marketing staff and ascertain how to incorporate the themes they want to push out to the public,
  • I use this new knowledge and design it into my course,
  • the most senior manager announces that this is a vital team project, to be respected,
  • I teach the whole group,
  • they learn,
  • they get homework to rewrite their profile with what I exposed them to,
  • two weeks later they present the homework to me,
  • I critique it,
  • they amend,
  • they now have a much better LinkedIn profile with the company marketing baked into their own brand marketing.

Seems obvious to me. The process is constantly re-evaluated and works in every industry.

My cooperation with the firm, attendees’ accountability, leading to teamwork and constructive criticism: all this makes each profile amazing-er. The firm as a whole too.

Unsolicited comments I recently received (and it’s best to let others say it instead of just me):
