We mostly focus on the sections of our profile that are search-sensitive, and you have heard me discuss them here:
- Headline
- About
- Experience
- Skills
But have you opened all the other sectiosn that apply to you, to compete your career story?
Start by clicking the blue oblong “Add profile sections” (found beneath the number of connections and followers you have).
You will then see:

Click the downward arrows next to Recommended and Additional to see other sections you may have missed.

Dig in.
Make this part of your brand marketing.
That means make it reflect well on you, and do not let it seem bland and the minimum to get by. Use rich verbs, whole sentences, add as many links and graphics as the section will allow. Show you personality. While these sections may not be mainstays of the search and any decision a reader will make to contact you, they can also round your personal out and who knows-perhaps the reader is a fellow supporter of your fave nonprofit, a gardener, or like-mindedly politically active, who identifies with you and your work in and outside your job.
Thats; what you are aiming for–to be a step ahead and above the competition, right?
Tell us or we will never know, as I always say.
