LinkedIn just registered a billion members. Five new members every second.

I was the 203,392nd to join back in 2004. The Wild West days.

My, how LinkedIn has changed, and this forces me to think further:

  • Do I need to meet all / most of these fellow members? No.
  • Do I openly connect with people I do not know? No.
  • Do I offer my thought leadership in my areas of expertise to all who can use it? Yes.
  • Do I have over 3000 connections (carefully selected and nurtured and all of whom I know) and a 5-digit cohort of followers (whom I do not know at all)? Yes.
  • Can all of them read me, to think differently, believe new material, feel differently, and act openly to achieve the best we all can help each other to be? Yes.
  • Do I want them to be swayed by my views, via the multiple stimuli that come at me daily, across social media platforms, at least 5 days a week via my blog, but also as a podcast guest, writer, quoted in the press, dual book author,  etc., to all of these: yes.

I thrive on serious readers, 1:1 coaching clients, and companies / firms / organizations that want my expertise for their trainees. To them, I say, bring it on. Read me, learn, ask, converse, offer your expertise back to me and my carefully vetted tribe of connections.

If you are one in a billion who needs my help to tell your “why,” to be heard in the noise, to be amazing-er than the rest, ask me. We will zoom–my decision–and see where it takes us.

A billion. Wow. I have so much more work to do. You do too.
