Uh oh, a typo.
We all make them. Me especially.
Many of us are forgiven, but if you are in an occupation where precision and perfection are expected (think brain surgeon, fighter pilot, attorney, CPA, architect, entrepreneur, etc., yes, all of us!), you had better be checking at least once and perhaps more times for typos.
Me especially. And extra focus on proposals and important emails.
And blog posts (well, most of the time!)
I’ve told you about MS Word’s Read Aloud, which I use. After spell check and before I read it once again and send it along.
But it’s still possible typos creep in. My first book for the ABA had a typo, after dozens of us worked on it in writing, rewriting, editorial, mock up, and publishing. ARRRGH! Still makes me angry.
Fix them if you can, especially if electronic, and if you cannot, cut another notch in to the experience stick and move on.
And hunt them down on your LinkedIn profile!
I say this because yesterday I found another one on mine. Yup. I fixed it and am moving on, but don’t tell anyone, OK?
