Not the best question of the week, but the best etiquette lesson.

I received an email asking how to do something for his client. I answered.

A simple thank you would have been nice. Professional. After all I was making him look better in front of his client.

But nothing came. Second time that happened from the same person. OK, you are thinking, why help a second time if he was unappreciative the first time?

In the heat of the competitive battle, we can forget to thank, or follow up or…because we all get hopelessly distracted. But there’s now an established pattern of taking without giving a thank you.

I believe you should give more than you take. He apparently has not read that or absorbed that in his business etiquette.

Don’t be unthankful, folks, It’s as easy as 4 keystrokes: “TVYM.” How long does that take at the minimum?

Ahem, thanks for reading me here.
