Uh oh. I never followed up on a connection someone made for me and did not circle around to talk about how I can help him. I dropped the ball. The connection will not be as sweet after this long lapse.
Today I followed up with a colleague to see how she fared with an e-intro I made. He dropped the ball. He is making up for lost time now with my colleague.
Yes, client issues and distractions get in the way of smooth dribbling so we can drop that proverbial ball once in a while.
I try so hard to follow up to the nth degree.
But we mortal entrepreneurs can goof up and we need to cut each other some slack, not often, but once in a long while.
Calendarize when a prospect says “call me in 3 months.” Tell them what day and time you will call, set an appointment with them and follow through.
Uh oh.
I never followed up on a connection someone made for me and did not circle around in a forgivable time span to talk about how I can help him.
I dropped the ball. Spilled the ice cream.
Today I followed up with a colleague to see how she fared with an e-intro I made. She dropped the ball and is making up for lost time now with my colleague.
Yes, client issues and distractions get in the way of smooth dribbling so we can drop that proverbial ball once in a while.
I try so hard to follow up to the nth degree.

Ask a colleague when they want a LinkedIn post you wrote with their helpful input when they want you to post it. Yes, you can even schedule posts on LinkedIn now. It may just dovetail into a marketing plan they are working on right now, so help them since they helped you.
Time flies by and stuff happens. Do what you can with the tools you like to employ, to keep the schedule fluid. No hiccups or dropped balls, right?
Mea culpa-ed too.
