Get on the gravy train

I could not resist this picture. In New Jersey, (if you do not live close by) they call pasta sauce “gravy.” In any variety, jarred or homemade. It’s colloquial and ethnic, and just so home-spun descriptive.

You remember a steaming bowl of just about any pasta dish by taste, and the remembrance will usually be the gravy.

My point? LinkedIn speaking, your personal profile can be eclipsed by all the fancy new bells and whistles LinkedIn is enticing you to give fleeting, quick glimpses of what you are. Not a residual memory.

I say go deeper, beneath the entanglement of linguini/capellini/{or your fave pasta} and let them savor the gravy of “why you do what you do,” as the steam and aroma swirl, giving your reader a heady experience of what makes you unique.

Show your good LinkedIn taste.

You may be amazed at how prospective business partners hunger to find out more about you.

Be memorable in the special sauce you bring to the proverbial business table.
