conference
Yesterday I gave you a sure-fire way to meet colleagues at an upcoming  fall conference. Today, another one I have used.

You have certain people or certain companies you want to gain exposure to, or connections at, for career objectives, or for business informational purposes. The reasons are limited by your imagination.

There’s an important conference or meeting is coming up and you want to make the most of it.

Send out a message and share with your connections asking for volunteers to introduce you to certain people or company officers that you desire a “warm connection” to.

Look up their LinkedIn profile, see who they are connected to you that you are connected too. Leverage the 2 1/2 degrees of separation!

Asking those mutual connections you share to help you meet designated persons, you can better make your way onto their radar screen, especially if they are attending the same conference or meeting you are.

Arrange a time to place to meet with them, like at the keynote luncheon, or at a breakout session you both share an interest in. Make that the common ground ice breaker.

Compare notes on the keynote speaker or the breakout session leader’s materials after you get back to the office.

Work together since 2 LinkedIn heads are better than one, as perhaps you have accomplished something they want to try, need the benefit of your experience, or vice versa.

Try it.
