Often I see announcements by colleagues by email to the various listservs and private email groups I am part of: new publications, clients, mentions, all sorts of news….

I always advise them to mention this on LinkedIn as well.

If you thought it important enough to announce it on one medium (email), why not :

1) share it with your connections and groups as an update on your LinkedIn profile home page (and did you also tweet it at the same time?)

AND (not or)

2) memorialize it in your LinkedIn personal profile in the appropriate section so it remains on your profile until you make a change to it.

Just be sure to do something to make it known, because your entourage is rooting for you all the time.
