In June without much fanfare, LinkedIn started allowing premium members (paid subscribers) to add a cover photo behind the “white box” containing their name, headline and headshot.
Now with even less fanfare it appears those of us who do not pay for LinkedIn will be able to add this banner as well.
I just tried. I can’t (yet). But as soon as I can, I will!
This cover photo makes an immediate visual impression to the reader as to what you do, so choose a great photo or graphic to express that.
Content, size and optimal placement of the picture may be a challenge to multi-preneurs like me, but we can do it! (Sorry, the example I am showing above from LinkedIn is not the best! But you get the picture.)
My source is http://www.thesocialmediahat.com/news/linkedin-opens-cover-photos-everyone-07172014 and I believe it to be reliable.
