From time to time I hear about bogus “people” asking to connect.
I have read about the case brought against LinkedIn for security breaches of personal data.
I am not asking for trouble, believe me, and I have been safe so far, partly because I have already implemented almost all of the tips advised in this article. Sorry but you might have to wait a few seconds to get past the (annoying) advertisement first.
BTW, I generally disagree with the anonymity tip, but can see some situations where it may be helpful.
Bottom line: think carefully about your security on LinkedIn.
And here’s another tip: print out your entire profile on paper and put it away someplace secure. Then if your lose access to your profile and need to reconstruct it, you can (more easily) do so. I hope you never have to thank me for this tip.
