Yes, back from a celebration of what I hope will be a happy and healthy new year. This past year we lost one family member and gained a new grandchild. Health scare (IYKYK) and emotional rollercoasting interspersed, it was a year to reflect on as one to do better over the next.
And don’t get me started on politics.
Intelligent reflection and emotional introspection combine into a noble act when you frame them for others to benefit from your experience.
Last week in a podcast I was asked how to celebrate a milestone year for someone’s business. Immediately my mind skipped to an article I wrote a few years back, the theme of which always gets people to want to read the benefit of your experience and toil, to make their journey meaningful and hopefully benefit them going forward. I recommended a post such as “what I learned in 17 years as an entrepreneur,” or something along those lines, to sum up the broadbrush lessons learned along the way in the everyday battle to capture food for the table and gain incremental fortune.
So I implore you to dare to express your reflections, backward, to propel yourself and your readers forward.
No matter how you travel: be it lift off skyward, rocket down the entrepreneurial runway, after you soar, do touch down softly on a new, better surface, and disembark better for the trip.
