You know you need to plan and execute a compelling LinkedIn profile, right? I hope so.
And you reviewed yours (if not, now’s a suitable time) and think you could say it better, edit it, update it, renovate it.
So you open a blank Word document screen and start writing.
Good.
Now:
- Spell-check it, have Word’s Read Aloud function play it to your eyes and ears, make changes.
- Next let it cool. Like a freshly baked pie or loaf of bread.
- Then review it again.
- You probably have some changes to add, or delete, or trash and start over. That’s healthy.
- Then go through the draft of your newly completed profile, on paper (or on your screen if you visualize better that way) and using a highlighter, what skills and key words did you naturally use?
- Now work those words more effectively into your writing once again.
- Revise your skills with the highlighted words, using this query: if I were looking for me in the LinkedIn search function, what keywords and skills would I be searching for?
Rinse. Repeat.
