From a comment the other day: the speaker has a fear of telling too much on their LinkedIn profile. My thoughtful reply after I noodled on it for a while, related to my introspection on this topic:
If you know me, you know I am pretty straightforward. “Direct” as one boss called me. I “pontificate” as another verbalized me.
I am who I am, DNA aside, the sum total of all my work, my metaphorical back pockets full of experience cards I play on the business table when I need them, and re-place to be played again at a later time.
As a teacher, coach, trainer, strategist of LInkedIn, my role is to demonstrate how you can optimize it and make it work for you, with forethought, planning and a bit of cunning. And make it easy, even fun, to read.
Be yourself on LinkedIn. Make the personality in electronic words match the personality on a zoom chat or phone call. No “disconnects.”
So, do I or you overexpose myself on LinkedIn, profile, posts, blogs, comments?
Only you can answer that.
I cannot think of instances where it ever hurt me, or hindered my business pursuits. I give the reader myself, unvarnished and relevant. Real.
Do you?
