Best question of the week: how often should I post on LinkedIn?

text

I get this question a lot.

This time a derivation of it came from Paul Daniels, an esteemed colleague, who stated in his post earlier this week he does not post on weekends. Good reason, he has less time to spend attending and helping his readership that they deserve on those days, as he stated.

I know what he means, I post 5 days a week and it’s a struggle to keep it fresh and informative and keep up with the comments back to me.

So in our messaging on this topic, he then asked me if he should state his weekdaily posting policy on his profile:

My reply:

You can, in your About section.

But I think calling attention to it is unnecessary; rather, just post any day you have something helpful to say to others and they will appreciate you as so many already do.

Note the qualifier “something helpful to say to others,” which can occur any day of the week. Why not (homage to Dan Dominguez) use it later on, in the following week.

That’s exactly what I do, ponder the best way to analyze the questions I get week in and week out, repackage them as I am doing here, and use them in my “best question of the week” sometimes storing them for another week.

They are timeframeless, you know, no expiration date. No use by date.

I just answer them in an appropriate timeframe. Make sense?
