No matter how much you post or comment on LinkedIn, not everything you say will hit a chord, or even stroke a nerve. Some will fail by virtue of no comments at all. Like it never even happened, so to speak, or as if you missed the mark completely.
I surround myself with a cadre of commenters who have agreed to send me their thoughts (and I do to them) every day or so. I can tell from the quality of their exuberance (or lack thereof) if I exceeded expectations, or slid underneath.
Sometimes even the most verbally vocal give me that thumbs-up emoji, and I can tell I struck out.
I take note of this and strive to improve the next mention of this topic, a few weeks/months later.
You can and should be active sharing your thought leadership on LinkedIn.
Do not be alarmed if you miss and thus mess up. Amend and retry. Dust yourself off, get back on the LinkedIn horse. We expect you to.
You will never know how much others appreciate you if you do not stick your neck out a little more every time. If you don’t we move on to pay attention to others, and that’s leaving you in the dust.
