I came across a good overview article on what it means to be effective and outstanding in client service.
From the article, here are 8 ideals to emulate and differentiate yourself, no matter whom you do it for, what you offer, where it is available, when you need to provide it, how you deliver it, and (my favorite) why you do what you do so well (click the links):
-
Work as a team
-
Listen and share
-
Friendly, empathetic support
-
Be honest
-
Improve empathy
-
Deep product knowledge
-
Timeliness
-
Identify ways to improve processes
There is little need to expound on any of these.
Just know that we always recall terrible customer service, never comment on it when passable or standard, and do not compliment others for stellar service often enough.
It should be a pleasant experience and privilege to work with your clients, and them with you. It’s more real when other say good things about you, but you also can show how you care for clients in your own words as well.
Take advantage of your excellence in this area in your LinkedIn profile: cite examples, offer quotes, and/or post recommendations demonstrating a client centered service situation where you excelled.
A casual reader evaluating you and others needs to know just how far you exceed expectations (which are unfortunately low in this environment) and that positive impression may just tip the business over to your side.
