You know my opinion on emoticons in your response to a post.

Well, in an effort to keep you up-to-date, I want to let you know there’s another one, which I say avoid, hot off the press, waiting to be abused:

Drumroll (not) ………….. the turquoise laughing face.

Ugh.

Don’t just laugh.

Tell the writer why you enjoy their work. The laughing face and other silly stuff LinkedIn offers does not tell the writer WHY you liked it, just that you did, well, sort of, with a laugh, a smile, a clap, a heart, or other Facebook-y icons.

Please use words. We are smarter than this.
