Remember waiting in the hallway to see the professor in college during his or her office hours?
Well, business operates 24x7x365/6, not when you want to show up. Each morning, and multiple times during the day, when you sign onto LinkedIn you should check your messaging and notifications tabs on the top of your home page.
You never know who is waiting for your guidance, offering you a referral, asking about something you are an expert in–just like asking the professor for help with an assignment.
I cannot tell you how many clients I coach share their Linkedin screen with me and when I look at their LinkedIn profile page, there’s a clog of items to attend to. That means a lot of people waiting on you. That means disappointment and the assumption you are not timely, the opinion you do not care. Or are not collaborative. Or miss important details.
Be in the moment, be open to opportunities, please?
Do not let a ton of messages and notification back up to make you look uninterested in the welfare of your own business.
