They run in harm’s way to protect the liberties we just voted to ensure.

They endure hardships in hostile environments every second of the day and night.

They dutifully report for the task they are assigned, plan it, and execute it.

They operate on land, sea, air, and now space.

They are undervalued and underpaid for this, yet they ask for nothing more.

They are prominent in my family and connections. And yours.

We thank these men and women today, in particular, for their service on Veterans Day, but also every day.

I’ll thank you once more.
