I respect the power of stories. Memorable, vivid, short and powerful.
When used correctly.
I am speaking here about Stories that can be found on your LinkedIn smart phone app (not on the desktop).
I was asked to be part of a new LinkedIn Group helping them explore new ways to utilize Stories into the future.
Because I was asked I agreed to join. But first I have to experiment and become comfortable with using them. I have been creating short videos on my smartphone and sharing them for quite some time, infrequently and enough to make them unique and honest, noticeable.
I see LinkedIn sinking into the social media frenzy around Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook again.
I fear when everyone else get Stories on LinkedIn that they will bombard us with meaningless banter, squealing and congratulating their dog for walking its hind legs (I have seen that on LinkedIn!) and other stuff that is not business-oriented. Just like the gush of polls that sloshed through LinkedIn a few months ago, and still does.
