Bubble up

Look within. Within is the fountain of good, and it will ever bubble up, if you ever dig.

Marcus Aurelius, The Philosopher King was really deep. Or at least his PR people were. This soundbite comes from military campaigns in Germania and written into a journal called “The Meditations.”

Thanks to Marcus, in absentia. He is just the type of professional I like to surround myself with. Even though I can’t locate him to invite him to connect on LinkedIn, and thank him, this quote forms part of the introductory material to my book and will be in my presentations at the beginning and end.

It makes the point that if you are stuck, work hard to release what you want and need to say to be amazing-er on LinkedIn. Your good. Your differentiators. Your ikigai.

Once opened up, this release comes more naturally, and you have achieved something very powerful. You give yourself permission to express why you do what you do.

Not once, but bubbling up continuously.

  1. Thanks, Marc.
I was curious what this quote really meant and I dug out 2 things that helped me to really appreciate its meaning….
“Being good, and doing good things. These are the glue which holds society together. … Without it, we are animals in clothes.”
and from “The Meditations By Marcus Aurelius”..
“When thou hast done a good act and another has received it, why dost thou look for a third thing besides these, as fools do, either to have the reputation of having done a good act or to obtain a return?”
Everyone has good inside themselves. If you “dig” for it, you will find it. Do good things because that is who you really are, not because you expect something in return. No expectations, no disappointments!
