But many hiring managers and recruiters lament that finding disabled candidates to consider for open jobs has been difficult.

LinkedIn has just announced a process to self-identify as disabled on your profile:

  1. Go to your Settings and Privacy drop down under “me”

  2. Look under your Privacy horizontal tab to find Personal demographic information

  3. Check the dropdown box at disability

  4. Select your disability category (it’s very limited right now: yes/no/prefer not to say) as seen below

Recruiters and hiring managers can now find you via LinkedIn Recruiter and this self-descriptor will not appear on your profile page.
