With apologies to Aretha, it should be “Who is Zooming Whom? but out of r-e-s-p-e-c-t for her, and my being a grammar nerd, I want to bring two aspects of this title about zoomin’ to your attention:
- Get comfortable using Zoom, and other online video interview platforms like Adobe Connect, Skype, Gotomeeting, etc.! Show you have a good head inside that headset. Then be yourself, enjoy the interviewer, and have fun with it–I did just that in a Zoom session with Helena Escalante, Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the New York Public Library’s Science, Industry and Business Library ahead of a talk I was scheduled to present there.
- And since the title of that classic song really means who’s looking at whom (google it!), pay attention to who’s viewing your profile: not so much whom by name, but also from what industry, seniority, or geography they come, to be sure you are resonating with exactly the audience you crave.
LinkedIn provides very good data (here’s how), and depending on the subscription you have (or not) you get this type of information:
Be a rock star on LinkedIn, get down and boogie. (Sorry.)
Be a thought leader, providing others with your views, and get back the data you need to best address your perceived, and desired, readers…zoom on!
