brainI love talking to new entrepreneurs. They are bursting with excitement about their new business, ready to take on the business world.

They are absorbing as much as they can.

I know I still am, after 16 years.

So when 80 entrepreneurial business pros attended my session the other evening, the energy in the room was palpable. As a result my talk was more energized.

My job was to keep those bright eyes blinking and grease the mental gears to achieve my evening’s goal: educate and energize them based on my experience and tested viewpoints.

I wanted to sensitize them to my requirement to renovate their LinkedIn profile: to be that “yellow guy,” sound “amazing-er,” and articulate “why you do what you do.” (If you have been reading here, you know these are central points of my work.)

In one previous session an attendee emailed me the same evening: “Thank you! I went home and reviewed my profile and was horrified.” Real story.

My mission: to impress on them the best techniques to improve their LinkedIn profile over what they already had.

Entrepreneurship is a roller coaster ride, IMHO, with gut wrenching lows and exhilarating highs. And a few plateaus in between. Hopefully my presentation allowed the attendees the thrill of talking about themselves on LinkedIn at all stages of their upcoming new business journey, up and down hills, and in between.
