Yesterday in one of my classes a woman asked what to do about someone who was asking her to connect and she felt it was over the edge, on the creepy side, abusive, perhaps.
I told her that if it did not feel normal, it was her right to report this to LinkedIn. If you feel someone is taking unfair advantage and using LinkedIn incorrectly, I refer you to the Help Center for you to consider the actions you can take. Start with the search term “LinkedIn Professional Community Guidelines” and read LinkedIn’s advice.
LinkedIn is self-policing. We are all in this together. We expect to be approached and dealt with professionally.
You know when something feels wrong.
Report it to stop others from being abused too.
