You are in a large and competitive market, no matter what line of work you are in.
A casual search by a casual reader can either bring you new notice or keep you in the shadows, depending on your use of search keywords in 4 places on your LinkedIn personal profile:
- Headline
- Intro
- Experience
- Skills
It is imperative to have a profile richly and carefully sprinkled with key words, so you rise above the rest.
Do you want to see what search terms were used the last few times you were sought on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn recently provided a peek at the keywords used during the past week in which you appeared in the search results. On your own personal profile page (only) you will see some analytics of how many times you appeared in a search. Upon clicking the number of times (anything in blue means there’s more beneath it; red box added for emphasis), you can scroll down to see the search terms used in which you appeared.
Some may not make sense right away, but they may be worth exploring!
Caveat search word. Don’t feel forced to use any or all of them. Think it through.
Use this input for any sensible changes you need to make to your narrative. Before, you never knew what keyword is being used; now you do.
