photographicI firmly believe that excellent visual content is every bit as high quality written material that goes with it. To demonstrate that, think of newspapers that selectively use color photos to make a point, to attract attention , to burn an image in to your memory.

Visuals are more memorable than words. We humans are just wired that way, especially today with all the imagery and content blasted at us.

Still pictures, PDFs of documents, slide decks, videos, you name it. LinkedIn is very friendly to these media, and more.

Your LinkedIn profile allows you to attach visual content to make the words even more memorable as you demonstrate the pints you make using all sorts of graphics (worth a thousand, or a million, more words, right?):

  • headshot
  • background photo across the top of your profile
  • graphics under your Intro (formerly called Summary)
  • same under each job in your Experience section
  • company profile logo next to each job you hold/held
  • same next to university you attended, nonprofits you volunteer at
  • banner on top of company profile
  • showcase graphic on company profile
  • picture at top of your Posts
  • headshot of each of your recommenders
  • logos of each LinkedIn Group you belong to.

There’s a lot of places you can make your profile more attractive visually, and you should take advantage of this opportunity.

Be more memorable.
