At the end of a networking meeting yesterday, a colleague approached me and said that she hears my voice in her head spurring her on to make her LinkedIn profile better all the time. And she has taken my advice.
I thanked her sincerely and applied the advice that I give to my clients:
I said, “That’s a really nice compliment and I am flattered. Thank you. Once we part today, those kind words will be gone. Could I ask you to convert what you just told me to a LinkedIn recommendation to memorialize those words so others will know you appreciate my work?”
She agreed immediately and I just posted her recommendation.
