The implicit rule in social media (alas often forgotten) is that we are here to help others with no expectation of reward.
A nephew’s girlfriend looking for an internship, a brother between positions, a strategic introduction of a cousin-in-law to a college friend: these opportunities for advancement presume you are connected on LinkedIn to them all.
Take time to review your list of family members and ask them to connect.
Then, share material with them, make introductions willingly, point opportunities you come across to them. Try to treat your family like you treat your business colleagues, at least.
