My newest networking connection at the morning coffee meeting yesterday proclaimed that he runs a practice, not a business.
Not a medical practice, but an intellectual property-based, reliable and thought-driven firm, creative and relevant, vital in its recommendations to its clientele.
A “business” is too vague.
It is beyond a business for him. It is his identity.
I agreed with him. I knew what he was saying.
His expertise is obvious and his passion is infectious.
He is a joy to listen to, as he speaks about the clients he serves. Positive energy indeed!
And he talks the talk on LinkedIn too: when you read his LinkedIn personal and company profiles, it is clear he “gets it.” He articulates his personality in action in his career story.
He uses his brand and value proposition to differentiate himself from the competition. No confusion-he is the expert in his field. And is proud to tell “why” and “how.”
That meeting made me feel good.
His LinkedIn persona makes me happy.
I foresee collaboration in the near future.

Important to focus on what do you an differentiate in a positive way. Done here.
This guy sounds like a real gem! 😉 Sincerely appreciate the positive feedback and energy and will return in spades.

You were my muse for this blog post and I was fascinated with your concepts of “running a practice.” Thanks again!
